The other pets on this page are studio examples painted from licensed photos, and Cyber below is our own cat; none of them are customer orders. We are a new studio and would rather show our own work honestly.
Meet Cyber
A lopsided little face, kept in every painting
Cyber is our own cat. As a small kitten he crawled under a car's hood to keep warm, and then the engine started. He survived with a broken jaw and tail, a shelter nursed him back, and we took him home with his jaw still wired. His muzzle stayed crooked for life, and it only gave him more character: one round eye, one sleepy one, and a lopsided grin. A face like his is easy to tidy up into any tabby. We painted him in nine styles and kept it every time.

Will it really look like my pet?
That is what the free preview is for: you see your own pet before you pay anything. Every portrait is painted to keep their markings, eye colour and face shape. If a portrait you bought still isn't quite them, repaint it free from your order page, up to two times per style. If it is still wrong, we refund you.
Is this made with AI?
Yes. Your portraits are painted by an AI image model from your photo, guided by our own studio prompts and checks. We say it plainly because you should know what you are buying. A real person answers every email.
Which photo works best?
A sharp photo where the face is easy to see, taken in daylight at eye level. Your pet does not have to look straight at the camera: a three-quarter view works well. The portrait keeps the pose of your photo, so a profile stays a profile and a sleeping pet stays asleep. If the face is not visible at all, we have to guess it, so pick a photo where you can see it. One pet per photo, without colour filters. Blurry photos, very dark rooms, faces hidden by a blanket or a toy, and photos taken from far away make the likeness harder. The photo does not need to be large: every portrait is painted fresh at 1792 × 2400 px, and your download page can enlarge it to 3584 × 4800 px for prints up to about 1 m (40 in).
My pet has black fur. Will it work?
Yes. Black cats and dogs were the first pets we tested, because dark coats are where most portraits go wrong. Drag the slider in the black cat example above to compare the photo with the painting.
What exactly do I get?
A high-resolution JPG file for every portrait in your pack (1792 × 2400 pixels) without the watermark, and, if you want to print big, a large print file of the same portrait (3584 × 4800 pixels) that your download page prepares in about 40 seconds. You can download them as soon as you pay, one by one or all at once as a ZIP, and they stay available for 12 months at pawsterpiece.com/my.
Can I print it? How big?
Yes. The regular file is ideal for screens and prints up to about 30 × 40 cm (12 × 16 in). For bigger prints, use the large print file from your download page: it prints well up to about 1 m (40 in) on the long side at any photo lab, online print shop or canvas printer. For a framed gift, an 8 × 10 in (20 × 25 cm) print is a lovely size.
Can you paint two pets together?
Not yet. For now each portrait shows one pet. If you have two, upload a photo of each one separately.
What if I don't like it?
Email us within 30 days and we refund the full amount. You can also repaint any style free from your order page, up to two times within 30 days, and tell us what to change. One refund per customer in any 12 months, and a refund ends your right to use the files.
What happens to my photo?
We use it only to paint your portraits. If you do not buy, your photo and the previews are deleted from our servers automatically after 30 days. If you buy, your photo is kept with your portraits for 12 months, so you can download them again. We never use them in our marketing without asking you first.
Is payment secure?
Payments are handled by Stripe, so we never see your card details. Apple Pay, Google Pay and all major cards work.
